SmarTech Markets Publishing Launches: Provides Industry Analysis and Market Forecasts for Additive Manufacturing, Robotics, Automation and the Internet-of-Things

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Feb. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- SmarTech Markets Publishing LLC (SmarTech), an industry analyst and publishing firm specializing in markets inspired by the "bits and atoms" concept, has been formed.

SmarTech's first report, available in early March, will be "Opportunities for Augmented Reality - 2013-2020." This will be followed by: "Markets for Gesture-Based Computer Recognition and Control," "Opportunities for Codes, Sensors and Tagging for Smart Packaging," "3D Printing Markets," "Opportunities for Sensors in the Smart Grid," and "Home Automation Markets in an IoT Era." "Almost every day now, new business opportunities are appearing in M2M and digital control of objects and systems," said Lawrence Gasman, SmarTech's President. "We believe that there is now a critical need for guidance on where and how the money will be made in these areas, how these new technologies will change value and supply chains and who will be the winners and losers. I formed SmarTech to address these issues." All SmarTech reports include a detailed strategic analysis of both major suppliers and key startups, along with alternative scenarios based on various economic, structural and technological possibilities. In addition, these reports are designed to supplement the internal product planning, technology road-mapping and internal forecasting processes of SmarTech's clients. SmarTech will also serve as a reliable third-party source of projections when its clients make investor pitches.

Gasman was a founder of two other industry analyst firms - Communications Industry Researchers, Inc. (Data Communications) and NanoMarkets, LC (Advanced Materials) and continues to sit on their boards. The forecasting and analysis techniques that are used at SmarTech will be based on the methodologies that he developed at these firms over a 30 year period.

Industry reports are SmarTech's core deliverable, but the firm also carries out custom consulting, when clients need more detailed assessments of companies and markets that can be included in an off-the-shelf report. SmarTech also offers services to the financial community, addressing the needs of investment analysts and venture capitalists seeking the depth of understanding of "bits and atoms markets" that SmarTech can provide.
