IFS Expands Footprint with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

ITASCA, Ill. --(Business Wire)--

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, is expanding its footprint within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) by signing a contract for 300 additional IFS Applications™ users for the Flight Inspection Services (FIS), Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Group in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In 2010, IFS Applications was selected to underpin the Logistics Center Support System (LCSS), which replaced the FAA's existing Logistics and Inventory System in use at the Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), a distribution, warehousing and repair facility housed at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City.

The FAA is now extending LCSS maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and fleet operations software, to FIS. FIS operates and maintains a fleet of 30 uniquely equipped aircraft that provide in-flight evaluation of both civil and military navigational aids in support of the National Airspace System (NAS). Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering provides maintenance support for the flight inspection aircraft fleet at Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Will Rogers World Airport plus Line Station and Satellite Repair Station support at Atlantic City, N.J., Anchorage, Alaska, Atlanta, Ga., Battle Creek, Mich. and Sacramento, Cal.

In addition to the aircraft maintenance support requirements of the Flight Inspection Program, Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering provides maintenance and modification services to other U.S. and foreign government aircraft flight programs and operators.

"This is exactly how we achieved our position as the number one enterprise asset management software vendor for the aerospace and defense industry," IFS North Amrica President and CEO Cindy Jaudon said. "The FAA is leveraging their existing investment in IFS Applications to address additional needs, consolidating their IT infrastructure and saving the taxpayer dollars. The modular nature of IFS Applications allows our aerospace and defense customers to realize well-defined projects that are successful and deliver immediate benefits. Then, our customers keep bringing us back to address new needs, new users and deliver new functionality. We look forward to building more on our successes together with the FAA."

IFS™, the global enterprise applications company, through its component-based product IFS Applications™ offers off-the-shelf functionality to support the needs of organizations operating in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) sector including Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) and Fleet Operator programs, Defense Manufacturing, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO), Fleet & Asset Management, Supply Chain Management, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).

Via its specialist A&D industry organization, IFS supports its customers all over the world. IFS's global defense customers include Navy, Army and Air Force users and organizations such as the Eurofighter consortium. Commercial aviation MRO shops and service operators include Aero-Dienst GmbH, Alitalia Maintenance Systems, DynCorp, K&L Microwave, Hawker Pacific, Ensign Bickford and Todd Pacific Shipyards. In addition, IFS provides solutions to the major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and integrators such as General Dynamics (News - Alert), Lockheed Martin, BAE SYSTEMS, SAAB and GE Aircraft Engines.
