New Mobile App Provides Live Access To U.S. Manufacturers Database

EVANSTON, Ill., Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Users of smart phones and tablets now have the ability to view, sort and export profiles of U.S. manufacturing companies with the launch of a new mobile app for EZSelect.com, an industrial database subscription service offered by industrial publisher Manufacturers' News, Inc. In response to customer demand for quality data combined with leading edge technologies, MNI now provides users access to its live database of 400,000 manufacturers and one million executives on a real-time 24/7 basis via this new platform.

"As MNI celebrates its 100th anniversary publishing industrial information, the foundation is already being set for the next one hundred years," said Scott Kartsounes, MNI's Vice President of Technology. "Starting with the publication of the first Illinois Manufacturers Directory in 1912, we've broadened our reach over the past century to provide industrial information on all fifty states. Now, we've taken the extra step to allow our customers 24/7 access to the most relevant and up-to-date information possible." EZSelect's mobile web app is compatible with any tablet or smart phone and takes advantage of new technologies like GPS to show users an interactive list of nearby manufacturers along with driving directions from their current location. MNI's research-style version of EZSelect.com was recently launched for libraries and universities and allows users to access EZSelect.com from any library computer or from home if their library offers web access to research tools.

Since its launch in February 2012, EZSelect.com has grown to service over 2,600 registered users. The industrial database allows subscribers to identify, build and save lists of companies and contacts, export profiles to CRM for marketing campaigns, follow companies and receive real-time alerts of updates and news stories, share notes with colleagues and generate reports, and see how manufacturers relate to one another through a graphical family tree.

Manufacturers' News, Inc., established 1912, is the nation's oldest and largest publisher of state manufacturers directories and industrial databases. For 100 years the company has identified, researched and profiled manufacturing establishments. Currently, MNI is offering a free 30-day trial subscription to EZSelect.com. Visit www.ezselect.com for more information or contact Manufacturers' News, Inc., 1633 Central St., Evanston, IL, 60201, 847-864-7000, FAX 847-332-1100.
