The Greater China Notebook PC Industry, 4Q 2012: Windows 8 OS and Intel Haswell Are Expected To Help Boost the Industry's Shipment Performance in 2013

Meanwhile, as major contract manufacturers are moving their onshore factories inwards to western areas in China, the production capacity in onshore factories are expected to gradually decrease in the future. Looking ahead to 2013, aside from a relatively low baseline period in 2012, Windows 8 OS and Intel Haswell are expected to help boost the industry's shipment performance. Therefore, it is anticipated that the full-year shipment volume of the Greater China notebook PC industry in 2013 will outperform that in 2012.
