Wren Sound Systems: Redefining wireless audio by focusing on sophisticated design, superior performance

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. --(Business Wire)--

Consumers have a bold new choice when it comes to wireless audio. Newly formed Wren Sound Systems, LLC, combines cutting-edge technology, old school materials and build quality, and classic audio know-how to deliver beautiful, affordable wireless sound systems to music lovers who have a passion for simplicity, quality and great design.

Thirty-five-year audio industry veteran Mike Giffin founded Wren Sound Systems in 2011 with a simple goal: To create truly standout wireless sound systems for the growing number of people who choose connected devices - smartphones, tablets and computers - as their primary source for music. The company's first product, the Wren V5AP wireless speaker, harnesses Apple's AirPlay (News - Alert)® which lets users stream iTunes music from a Mac or PC, or directly from their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.* The Wren V5AP can also serve as a wireless sound output option for OS X Mountain Lion®, allowing users to experience big sound from movies, music, games and more.

The included 30-pin USB dock connector extends the Wren V5AP's wired compatibility to other Apple devices with 30-pin connectors.

The Wren V5AP is available now. Additional V5 sound systems for Android (News - Alert) and Bluetooth devices are due for release in early 2013.

"Wireless audio dramatically raises the convenience and lowers the ost of getting great sound in every room of your house," said Giffin, former Senior VP of Global Brands for Harman International's consumer audio business. "But despite this breakthrough, the availability of wireless sound systems that are attractive, affordable and - most important - musical has simply not kept pace. At Wren, we want to change that. We offer a genuine alternative to bulky component systems on one hand and the current run of anemic-sounding plastic wireless speakers on the other.

"I've spent my life introducing music lovers to the clarity and impact of great sound. Now, Wren's team of industry veterans is distilling decades of audio experience into a single line of products. We're combining real materials, like bamboo and rosewood, with cutting-edge electronic and acoustic components to create wireless systems that will make truly moving audio relevant and accessible in a new age of music."

Distribution and Availability

Wren Sound Systems products are available direct to consumers via the company's website, www.wrensound.com. This sales approach eliminates retail markup, allowing Wren to use the best materials and internal components available while maintaining wallet-friendly prices.
