Microwave Vision Group announces the signature of a 1 million EUR contract in the Middle East

PARIS --(Business Wire)--

Philippe Garreau, Chairman of Microwave Vision Group (News - Alert) (MVG), is delighted with this contract signed at the end of 2012: "This success is the fruit of a continuous commercial endeavor to be recognized in this region, and demonstrates the suitability of our offer both from a technical perspective and in terms of the related support services."

The new order is for 2 systems, an 18 GHz StarLab and an MG-Lab, compact and mobile equipment which meet the Client's requirements in terms of budget, performance and ease of use.

The StarLab is one of the flagship solutions provided by Microwave Vision Group for antenna measurement applications. The second product, the MG-Lab, on the other hand, is an innovation: a new compact testing system dedicated to the new WiGig protocol with an already promising commercial future. This system, sold before its commercial roll-out, will be launched worldwide in the first quarter of 2013.

It should be noted that WiGig is new wireless technology which enables data to be exchanged at speeds of up to 7 Gb/s. A suitable replacemnt for the cables cluttering up our homes!

The protocol is supported by Broadcom, Cisco, Dell, Intel (News - Alert), Microsoft, NEC, Nvidia and Nokia, etc.

MG-Lab will be launched at a time when the manufacturers of electronic products are in the process of integrating WiGig into new electronic devices under development. The merging of the Wi-Fi and WiGig standardization bodies, announced recently, demonstrates the importance that this new protocol will have in the future. Dual equipment combining Wi-Fi and WiGig should be on the market in 2013.
