Market Maker Surveillance Report. QCOM, LOW, SWY, BAM, CLWR, ZNGA, Bullishly Biased Price Friction For Monday, December 24th 2012

Dec 27, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4032 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2155 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2838 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ:QCOM), LOWE'S COMPANIES, INC. (NYSE:LOW), Safeway Inc (NYSE:SWY), BROOKFIELD ASSET MANAGE-CL A (NYSE:BAM), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction QCOM $0.290 0.47% 2,355,019 40.86% 2,912,152 50.53% -557,133 Abnormal LOW $0.200 0.57% 819,687 24.92% 1,361,114 41.38% -541,427 Abnormal SWY $0.090 0.50% 1,115,728 31.61% 1,940,971 54.99% -825,243 Abnormal BAM $0.030 0.08% 105,479 12.79% 573,383 69.51% -467,904 Abnormal CLWR $0.010 0.17% 1,636,667 33.86% 3,196,756 66.13% -1,560,089 Abnormal ZNGA $0.010 0.43% 3,106,344 46.30% 3,600,406 53.66% -494,062 Abnormal Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows QCOM with 557,133 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.29000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
