Ingate's SBC Makes Open Source Sippy B2BUA a Fully Qualified SIP Trunking Service for Microsoft(R) Lync(R) with TLS & SRTP Enhanced Security

STOCKHOLM, Dec 19, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Ingate Systems announced today that it has qualified a service provider's SIP trunking offering through Microsoft(R) Corp's Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program for Lync(R) Server 2010. The Ingate SIParator(R) SBC was added to the SIP core based on an open source Sippy B2BUA. By achieving this qualification, enterprise customers and resellers can be confident that the service, with Ingate SBCs, is fully interoperable with Microsoft's Unified Communications solutions featuring the Lync Server.

Ingate handled all the lab qualification testing and made sure that the combined solution with a Sippy B2BUA fulfilled all requirements, both mandatory and optional. The Ingate SBCs are designed for both enterprises and service providers and by having the Ingate SBC as its core, the service provider's SIP trunking offering can incorporate the encryption security enhancement of TLS for signaling and SRTP for media, a feature only offered by a few service providers. The Ingate solution offers exceptional flexibility, enabling secure communication for SIP trunking and all SIP-based communications, including PBXs and Unified Communications (UC) solutions.

"After thorough integration with the service provider's SIP core, the lab qualification went straight through all mandatory and optional tests without the need of any retesting pass. We believe that by using Ingate's SIParator, Ingate can qualify most SIP trunking service providers for Lync connection," says Martin Feuk, General Manager, Ingate Systems.

The service providers qualified by Microsoft for SIP trunking Lync, including the few that also offer TLS and SRTP encryption, are listed at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/fp179863.

Ingate's SBCs can also be used at the enterprise edge where they can secure and simplify deployments of the Lync Unified Communications platform and integrate other on-premises equipment. With its best-in-class functions and features the Ingate E-SBC paves the way for rapid installations that meet the strict security requirements necessary for today's businesses. The Ingate product line spans over a broad range of product capacities, delivered both on hardware and as software, all at a competitive price point.
