Agilent Technologies Introduces MIPI UniPro and LLI Protocol Decoders for Infiniium Oscilloscopes

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 30 November 2012 Release date- 28112012 - SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced software for decoding MIPI Unified Protocol and Low Latency Interface protocols.

The new protocol decoders provide design and validation engineers with a fast, easy way to validate and debug their embedded UniPro and LLI interfaces.

The MIPI protocols are high-speed interfaces for connecting integrated circuits and other electronic components in mobile devices.

Agilent's N8808A UniPro and N8809A LLI protocol decoders are designed to run on the company's Infiniium 90000 Series oscilloscopes. They enable protocol decoding for the MIPI Alliance's UniPro v1.41 and LLI v1.0 specifications. The software supports MIPI M-PHY Gear-3 speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps, which these protocols use for their electrical layers. R&D design teams can use the software to address their start-up debug and validation needs.

'Collaboration with IP vendors and customers has enabled us to develop decoders for UniPro and LLI protocols,' said Jay Alexander, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Oscilloscope Products Division. 'The software has been extremely helpful to early adopters for validating and ensuring their designs work as they expect.' The software supports: Correlated protocol-decoding information with the analog waveforms Symbol, packet, frame and payload details of the protocols High-speed (HS-BURST) and low-speed pulse width modulation (PWM-BURST) transmission modes Cyclical redundancy check on the packets Search capability for various frames, sequences and errors Agilent's N8808A UniPro and N8809A LLI software run on Infiniium 90000 Q-Series oscilloscopes, which deliver industry-leading, real-time bandwidth of up to 33 GHz on four channels with the only available 30-GHz probing system. With the lowest noise and lowest jitter measurement floor, the scopes ensure superior measurement accuracy.

Used together with N2809A PrecisionProbe software for the 90000 Q-Series oscilloscope, these two new decoders give engineers increased confidence in their MIPI UniPro and LLI product performance while increasing their design margins. Agilent's U7249A transmitter conformance software package is also available for electrical validation of the MIPI M-PHY physical layer.

U.S. Pricing and Availability The Agilent N8808A UniPro and N8809A LLI protocol-decoding applications are each available now for $2,500.
