USA : Spend $14 Billion On Expanding Its Wireless And Fixed Broadband Networks Project [TendersInfo (India)]

The company has boosted plans to expand its LTE mobile network by the end of 2014 adding 50 million people to the previous plans to cover 250 million.

The company also wants to improve its fixed IP network so that it will reach 75% of all consumer and small business premises in its wireline area by the end of 2015.

We have the opportunity to improve AT&T s revenue growth and cost structure for years to come, and create substantial value for shareowners.

The company will focus LTE investment on the 22 states of the US where it runs wireline services. It expects that 99% of the people in those areas will be able to subscribe to its LTE services by end end of 2014.

The fixed network expansion will include U-verse, AT&Ts fibre to the cabinet project. That will be expanded by a further 8.5 million homes and offices to 33 million locations by the end of 2015. The expansion is expected to be essentially complete by year-end 2015, AT&T. It will increase U-verse speed to 75 megabits a second under Project VIP.
