Voip-Pal.Com Inc. Status Update to its Patent Pending Applications

BELLEVUE, Wash., Nov. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Voip-Pal.Com Inc. ("Voip-Pal") (OTC Pink Sheets: VPLM) is pleased to announce the status of its portfolio of Patent Pending Applications. Voip-Pal is concentrating its efforts with working with the U.S. government patent agency on the Lawful Intercept and Mobile Gateway Patent Applications.

Voip-Pal's Lawful Intercept and Mobile Gateway Patent Applications are part of Voip-Pal's agreement to acquire Digifonica (International) Limited ("Digifonica"), a private company registered in Gibraltar. Digifonica's Lawful Intercept Patent Application is called "Intercepting Voice Over IP Communications and other Data Transmissions" and was filed on November 29, 2007 (US Patent Publication No. 20100150138, Link to Digifonica Lawful Intercept USPTO filing). Digifonica's Mobile Gateway Patent Application was filed on July 28, 2009 (US Patent Publication No. 20110122827, Link to Digifonica Mobile Gateway USPTO filing).

Voip-Pal/Digifonica's portfolio of Patent Applications also include Routing, Billing and Rating (RBR) ("Producing Routing Messages for voice over IP Communications", International Application No: PCT/CA2007/001956 filed November 1, 2007), Enhanced 911 ("Emergency Assistance calling for Voice Over IP Communications Systems", International Application No: PCT/CA2008/000545 filed March 20, 2008) and Advanced Interoperability Solutions ("Uninterrupted Transmission of Internet Protocol Transmissions during Endpoint Changes", International Application No: PCT/CA2009/001317 filed September 17, 2009).

This Patent Application becomes increasingly more significant as more and more countries are beginning to require telecom companies to have Lawful Intercept capability.

Mobile Gateway is a patent technology that has been developed to provide a mechanism for a single subscriber device to connect using WiFi, WiMAX and other wireless data connections. The Mobile Gateway technologies will enable cellular operators to permit call sessions established on WiFi/WiMAX to seamlessly roam back onto the standard GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network when the subscriber leaves the range of the WiMAX/WiFi antenna.
