AMERICAN SYSTEMS Awarded $83 Million GSA Connections II Task Order By Internal Revenue

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 16 November 2012 Release date- 13112012 - Chantilly, Va.- AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government IT services provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S., today announced it has been awarded a prime task order by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide network convergence under the U.S. General Services Administration's Connections II contract.


Under the task order, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will perform work including program management, engineering, logistics, purchasing, testing, implementation and support for the converged network operating the IRS' enterprise-wide unified communications solution, the government's largest unified communications project.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS' network convergence solution helps integrate voice, voicemail and other media including e-mail, SMS, fax, video messaging, and presence technologies, into a single user interface. These communications will be accessible from a variety of devices to support collaborative applications and improve the IRS' connectivity and productivity.

The single-award, firm-fixed-price task order has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and an evaluated price of $83,000,000. Work will be performed at more than 600 IRS locations across the United States and OCONUS, including major IRS offices at New Carrollton, Md., Martinsburg, W.Va., Memphis Tenn., Detroit, Mich., and Fresno, Calif.
