Post-Hurricane Sandy, TELEHOUSE America Continues Normal Operations, Performs Community Outreach

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/14/12 -- TELEHOUSE America (www.telehouse.com), the United States' leading provider of dedicated data centers, international Internet exchanges, and managed IT services, announces its continued normal operations before, during and after Hurricane Sandy and its support to the people and community affected by the storm via a donation made to the American Red Cross. Hurricane Sandy, the October 29 storm that afflicted the East Coast, particularly New York and New Jersey, left millions of Americans without power, transportation, and viable communications, and destroyed more than 1,000 area homes.

Headquartered in Staten Island with its 7 Teleport flagship facility, TELEHOUSE America remained operational throughout the storm. To date, all three TELEHOUSE New York facilities continue to operate normally with on-grid power, with its engineers checking all supporting and standby systems to ensure continued operations. In preparation for the storm, TELEHOUSE America initiated solid plans to sustain its operational readiness, and by the day the storm hit, proactively engaged backup diesel power (off-grid) in anticipation of lower Manhattan's utility power shutdown. Throughout the duration of the storm and in the aftermath, all TELEHOUSE New York facilities remained operational without any critical system outages. Additionally, its Manhattan sites at 25 Broadway and Chelsea were both operationally unaffected by local flooding.

"TELEHOUSE's readiness response to Hurricane Sandy speaks volumes about our company," comments Fred Cannone, Director of Marketing & Sales for TELEHOUSE America. "Our strategic preventative measures and disaster recovery plans solidly contributed to how well we handled the crisis both internally and externally during and after the major East Coast storm. On a personal level, the storm greatly impacted our Staten Island and Manhattan community -- our families, customers and friends, and as such, TELEHOUSE America is giving back to the community by aligning with the American Red Cross." In addition, and in response to the area's downtime and power issues, TELEHOUSE America is now offering regional organizations that require temporary solutions to storm related problems, diverse and secure IT services in all three of its NYC Data Centers: Colocation - quarter, half and full cabinets are available on one-month or more terms IP connections through vendor partners Telecom circuit cabling, available on limited or one-month or more terms Scalable IT support, available on limited or one-month or more terms Temporary small unfurnished office space (25B & Teleport).
