GreenWave Reality Receives 2 Top Industry Awards from Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Global Cleantech Cluster

IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

GreenWave Reality, a global innovator in the Smart Home Services market, today announces its distinction as a winner of CES (News - Alert) Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Awards for its Connected Lighting Solution. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) honored GreenWave Reality with the 2013 CES Best of Innovations award in the Integrated Home Systems category, as well as an Innovations Honoree award in the new Tech for a Better World category.

In a separate announcement today, the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA) recognized GreenWave Reality as a leading innovator in the smart home services market by naming the company a 2012 Later Stage Award Global Smart Grid/Sustainable IT winner. This 2012 Global Top 10 award reflects GreenWave Reality's successful market position as a Global Smart Grid company in the $163.1 billion international cleantech industry, as well as the company's ability to significantly contribute to the growing green economy.

"We consider it a great achievement to have our company's progress and innovation recognized by two such prestigious organizations on the same day," said Greg Memo, CEO of GreenWave Reality. "Winning the CES awards for our Connected Lighting Solution validates our position as a technology leader, and being honored by the Global Cleantech Cluster Association reflects our continued innovation and growth, as well as our leadership as a top global cleantech company."

GreenWave Reality's award-winning Connected Lighting Solution combines Energy Star certified LED bulbs with Internet connectivity to provide consumers with fully controllable, rich, warm light throughout their homes. The Connected Lighting Solution, incorporating JenNet-IP™ network layer software from NXP Semiconductors (News - Alert), can be used directly out of the box without any rewiring of te home or need for an electrician. By simply screwing in the bulbs, consumers can immediately begin to control their lights and operate the pre-configured "home," "away" and "night" Smart Controls. Leveraging these highly efficient, controllable LED bulbs, consumers will use only 20 percent of the energy a traditional incandescent bulb uses. Additional savings come from being able to easily control and dim home lighting.

The Connected Lighting Solution is one part of the company's overall Smart Home Platform that allows consumers to easily monitor and control their appliances and heating/cooling systems in the home. Advanced features like interactive coaching, energy budgeting, Smart Controls, and usage alerts all help consumers reduce wasted energy and improve their lifestyles through customized smart scenes in the home. The GreenWave Reality end-to-end solution is built on a highly scalable, secure IP-based network platform that connects all of these devices into an IP ecosystem, creating the foundation for the "Internet of Things."

"By introducing products and services that continue to meet the needs of consumers, our utility and service provider partners can build profitable, long term relationships with their customers," Memo added.

GreenWave Reality's suite of products and services will be on display with other CES Innovations honorees and winners at the 2013 International CES, January 8-11, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
