Unique Solutions Selects PureWave Quantum Base Stations for Network Expansion

CAPE TOWN, South Africa, Nov 13, 2012 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Africa Com -- PureWave Networks, a rapidly growing developer of LTE small cells and Mobile WiMAX base stations, today announced that it was selected by Unique Solutions as the company's exclusive provider of mobile WiMAX base stations for Unique Solution's planned network expansion. The planned expansion will cover Gambia's Greater Banjul Area, and will deliver mission critical transaction clearing services to the financial services industry, including the National Electronic Payment Platform and other performance sensitive customers.

The first phase of network expansion is expected to be completed by December 2012, in time for the landing of a new submarine cable which will deliver new communication capacity to the Gambia and 23 other African nations. Upon completion of the first expansion phase, Unique Solutions is planning additional growth including eventually expanding the network into Guinea and Liberia, as well as rolling out advanced services such as wireless fleet management and video surveillance applications aimed at government and corporate customers. The network will also offer broadband wireless access to schools through its "Schoolnet" programme.
