Conversations With Conservatives

Jul 18, 2012 (Congressional Documents and Publications/ContentWorks via COMTEX) -- Conversations with Conservatives is a group of free market and liberty-minded members of Congress that meets monthly with traditional press and bloggers to discuss the most important issues of the day. Chaired by Representatives Raul Labrador (ID-01), Tim Huelskamp (KS-01) and Jeff Landry (LA-03), each meeting features different conservative members of Congress to share their ideas and field questions from the media. While questions are not limited to certain topics, members are expected to talk about the fiscal cliff, the next steps on tax cuts, sequestration, and the agenda for the remainder of the year. This is the last #CWC before the August recess, so do not miss the opportunity to get conservatives on the record.

Participating members in the July 2012 Conversations with Conservatives include: Rep. Raul Labrador (ID-01), Rep. Jeff Landry (LA-03), Rep. Tim Huelskamp (KS-01), Rep. Justin Amash (MI-03), Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25), Rep. Jeff Duncan (SC-03), Rep. Steve King (IA-05), and Rep. Ted Poe (TX-02).

The event will be moderated by Rob Bluey, Director of the Center for Media and Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation. Food will be served, and wireless Internet will be provided. District media and press unable to attend are encouraged to watch Conversations with Conservatives live at http://www.livestream.com/heritagefoundation. Questions may be submitted via Twitter to @cwc112 or by using the hash-tag #CWC or on the group's Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/conversationswithconservatives.
