VIDEO RELEASE: Committee Republicans Call for Full Repeal of ObamaCare

Jul 12, 2012 (Congressional Documents and Publications/ContentWorks via COMTEX) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. | July 11, 2012 - The House of Representatives will vote today on legislation to strike down the president's job-destroying health care law. House Education and the Workforce Committee Republicans spoke in support of private-sector job growth and lower health care costs by urging a "yes" vote on the Repeal of ObamaCare Act (H.R. 6079): "In Michigan, the law has stifled economic growth and hiring and raised health care costs for everyone. It would impose 21 new or higher taxes, 12 of which directly affect the middle class, workers, and families." - Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) "We all remember former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's famous statement that we had to pass the bill so we could find out what was in it. Today, I stand here perplexed by not only what is in the bill, but also what is not in the bill." - Rep. Scott DesJarlais, M.D. (R-TN) "I rise today to urge my colleagues to support repeal of the Affordable Care Act. It is ironic that this legislation is called 'affordable,' because in my home state of Indiana it will be anything but affordable." - Rep. Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-IN) "We've known all along that this bill will cut half a trillion dollars out of Medicare. We've known all along that up to 20 million Americans could lose their employer-sponsored health care coverage." - Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD) "Despite the Supreme Court ruling, a significant number of Americans continue to oppose ObamaCare and they are encouraging Congress to take immediate action."- Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL) "Millions of Americans were assured that if they liked their health plan, they could keep it. Yet our committee has heard testimony from businesses - large and small - that the increased cost of providing health coverage for employees is simply unsustainable." - Rep. Joe Heck, D.O. (R-NV) More than a dozen members of the Education and the Workforce Committee spoke on the House floor to lend their support for repealing ObamaCare.
