SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 4, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Actiontec Electronics announced today that Brian Henrichs, Chief Business Development Officer at Actiontec Electronics, will be participating as a speaker at the upcoming CONNECTIONS(TM) at TIA, June 5-7, 2012, at the Gaylord Texan. Mr. Henrichs will participate in the session "Connected Consumer Electronics as the Set-top Box," on Wednesday, June 6 at 2:30 P.M.

The interactive panel session, moderated by Kurt Scherf, Vice President and Principal Analyst, Parks Associates, examines the opportunities created in the connections between connected CE and provider-based services. According to research from Parks Associates, total sales of video and audio connected consumer electronics products worldwide will be more than 292 million units in 2012 and grow to more than 760 million units by 2016.

"From televisions and tablets, to gaming consoles, e-readers, even smart appliances, we're hard pressed to find a consumer electronics device without an Internet connection these days," said Henrichs. "It's an exciting time for the home broadband market. This explosion of connected devices presents important opportunities, along with some challenges, for broadband service providers and their relationship with subscribers." CONNECTIONS(TM) focuses on innovative solutions for the connected consumer and leading strategies to monetize digital content, mobile applications and services, value-added services, connected consumer electronics, and home systems. The conference features research sessions on OTT video, mobile and product apps, connected CE, and the connected home.

"Actiontec Electronics is an excellent addition to our lineup of speakers addressing the changing dynamics of this converging marketplace," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "CONNECTIONS(TM) features insights from over 100 companies developing new solutions for the connected home, providing attendees with case studies of new deployments, research trends, and direction for the industry."
