Digimetrics To Introduce Aurora QC 4.0, Hydra Player Pro and New Partner Relationships at NAB 2012
CUSHING, Okla. --(Business Wire)--
Digimetrics, the leading file-based QC tool provider for modern media
organizations, will introduce new products and new relationships at
their stand, N4918, at NAB 2012 in Las Vegas.
Aurora 4.0 is the next major release of Digimetrics' innovative
file-based QC software, focused on improving the user experience and
file throughput by introducing several features, including:
-
Smart Templates - Aurora can now automatically select a test
template based upon the incoming file characteristics, allowing users
to build up a rule-based decision tree within their QC process. This
feature can dramatically reduce costs associated with content
profiling and testing, and is included as a standard feature in Aurora.
-
Slate Detection - While detecting visual artifacts has always
been a highlight of Aurora, version 4 brings the ability to detect
when specific items should be present in the content, including
black/freeze frames, audio silence, color bars & test tones. Users can
also specify a title card frame to be used for content identification
purposes.
-
Hot Folder Sorting - Users can set Aurora to sort through watch
folders based upon a number of items, including file name, file
created dates and entry time into the folder.
-
Abort Error Class - there is always a certain defect in every
workflow which will require that a file be quarantined, and Aurora
offers a new abort error handler, which allows the user to specify how
the abort should be handled and a quarantine location for aborted
files which can be separate from the standard error-flagged files.
Hydra Player gets a substantial boost for NAB as well, with version 2,
including the new Pro version, which adds SDI playout support using
DekTec (News - Alert) hardware. Hydra already supports playback of every format that
Aurora can test, and with SDI playout guaranteeing color accuracy and
audio synchronization, the best professional player gets even better.
Hydra Pro will launch with support for the DekTec DTA-2152 (HD-SDI and
SD playout), DTA-2144 (SD playout), DTA-2145 (SD playout) and DTU-245
(SD playout over USB) cards.
Showcasing the innovative technology that Digimetrics has introduced in
the last year, including the customizable, browser-based QC GUI on
Aurora and the GPU accelerated Perceptual Artifact Detector, will be two
partners exhibiting OEM solutions for the first time at a major industry
event.
Harris Corporation (News - Alert), booth N2502, will introduce the Harris®
QuiC™ software family to Nort America, featuring best-in-class quality
control technology from content analysis specialist Digimetrics,
including three easy-to-use, cost-effective tools for automated analysis
of digital assets:
-
QuiC™ Pro for maximum flexibility, with scalability to
enterprise-level operations
-
QuiC™ Express for file analysis in less complex workflows
-
QuiC™ View for visual presentation of digital content with ties to
HTML reports
"The increasing emphasis on file-based workflows in today's demanding
broadcast, production and media operations creates a need for
straightforward quality control processes," said Harris Morris,
president, Harris Broadcast Communications. "These new tools provide
fast, effective and actionable results without false positives --
allowing our customers to more effectively share, distribute and
monetize media assets across many workflows and delivery platforms."
Cube-Tec International, at booth N517, will display Digimetrics' Aurora
QC suite integrated into Cube-Tec's workflow solution, CubeWorkflow 2.0.
"Aurora was specifically designed with simple integration in mind, and
we are pleased that Cube-Tec has chosen to integrate this technology
into their innovative workflow platform. We are confident that the
combination of these technologies will provide customers with actionable
QC items that can lead to faster use of the media assets produced by the
workflow," says Eric Carson, Business Unit Manager of Digimetrics.
Jörg Houpert, Head of Technology at Cube-Tec International added, "We
are looking forward to include the best of breed QC engines in the
market to CubeWorkflow's Quality Enrichment Engine. The Quality
Enrichment Engine works one layer above a QC engine and can use complex
additional semantic information to improve the achievable quality. This
extra semantic layer is primarily important for QC parameters which
cannot be unambiguous evaluated in a pure technical measurement.
Digimetrics technology continues to be integrated with Amberfin's iCR
product as part of their UQC engine. Amberfin will display the combined
solution at booth SU9005.
