Virgin Media helps power the Red Devils

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 06 April 2012 Release date- 05042012 - Virgin Media today announced its sponsorship of the great British freefall team, the Red Devils.

Virgin Media will be helping the Red Devils team stay in touch and up-to-date with top-of-the range Blackberry Curve 3G handsets and mobile bundles.

Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile and home phone, at Virgin Media said: 'We're proud to be supporting such a great British team. The Red Devils are a fantastic example of team work and ambition and what better fit for two red, British, superfast brands! We're always looking at innovative new ways to keep you connected, when you're at home, out and about, on London Underground and now, 13,000 feet above ground.' Lance Corporal Danny Kelly of the Red Devils, said: 'Virgin Media is a great brand to partner with and up for the challenge of keeping up with the Red Devils. We need to stay in touch as we move around the UK, and further airfield, and are looking forward to making the most of our shiny new handsets.' The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team 'The Red Devils' is the official parachute display team of both the Parachute Regiment (The Paras) and the British Army.

The team's role is to promote both the Parachute Regiment and the British Army in support of recruitment - this is achieved by carrying out over 100 spectacular parachute displays at public events each year and by attracting positive publicity through the media.

The team is manned by 20 serving soldiers from the Parachute Regiment's three full-time battalions: 1, 2 & 3 PARA.

Every member of the team has served a minimum of three years in a Parachute Regiment battalion and has taken part in at least one operational tour of duty in either: The Falkland Islands, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and/or Iraq.
