Epicor unveils new products and services for LBM market

Apr 04, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Epicor Software Corporation, a provider of ERP and retail software solutions, has announced the availability of Mobile Manager for Epicor Catalyst and ECS Pro, Epicor Hosted Solution and Payment Exchange.

According to the company, these new products and services highlight the benefits that customers receive when they select Epicor that serves the lumber and building materials (LBM) market.

Developed by the Epicor mobile development team, Mobile Manager for Catalyst and ECS Pro allows storeowners and managers to get more done by serving them real-time information on their Android or Apple smartphone or tablet, the company said.

With the new product, the managers can respond to customer inquiries, track the health of the business and make informed decisions. Mobile Manager works by transmitting business data from a Catalyst or ECS Pro system to the Epicor secure data center, where it is formatted for mobile access and made available to mobile devices.

The hosted solution from Epicor delivers the functionality of the company's LBM software and hardware without the cost and hassle of maintaining a computer infrastructure. The Epicor solution is run from the company's secure, climate-controlled Tier 2 data center located in Austin, Texas. Epicor professional IT personnel perform all server maintenance, monitor server status and perform nightly backups. This cloud-based solution allows Epicor to manage software updates and includes disaster recovery.

Epicor Payment Exchange handles all the key steps in accepting card payments including authorization, settlement, and reporting. The company's pricing keeps statements and reports free of surprise fees and surcharges, the company added.

"When it comes to choosing an LBM technology provider, size matters," said Cary Anderson, senior director, product development for Epicor. "The tremendous size advantage with Epicor means that we have the internal talent and resources to tackle these three important initiatives simultaneously, and continue to aggressively build on the industry's leading technology solutions." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
