IHRDC Wins AVA Award for Web-Based Oil and Gas Training

Boston, MA, Apr 04, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- IHRDC, the worldwide leader in oil and gas training, announced today that it has been named a Platinum winner in the annual AVA Awards competition.

The First Place Award singled out the company's online training module "Refining & Product Specifications," one of 14 e-Learning courses offered in the "Petroleum Online" interactive suite, as an extraordinary example of Web Based Training.

"We are delighted by the news that a jury of our peers has identified one of our eLearning courses as setting a standard of production for the training industry," said Tim Donohue, Vice President of e-Learning Solutions for IHRDC. "This represents the culmination of our efforts to integrate video, sound, text and pictures into a seamless interactive experience that enhances our users' ability to absorb and retain our online training material." The AVA Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design, and production of media that is part of the evolution of digital communication.

Petroleum Online is a comprehensive series of e-Learning modules that provide an in-depth overview of each sector of the oil and gas industry. It is easily accessible on the Web and designed to make learning both challenging and enjoyable. The learning media is all-inclusive: engaging video introduces key concepts, illustrative graphics surround the text and challenging assessments internalize learning.

The award-winning "Refining and Specifications" module is part of a series designed for anyone associated with the global oil and gas industry. It has a broad appeal--from entry-level personnel to board members--that provides a more expansive perspective on the industry.

Each segment contains approximately two hours of learning and includes extensively illustrated text and graphics, video and flash segments, audio and other engaging interactivity, review sections, and an individual reporting system to record progress and performance. It was the superior design, production and integration of these elements that inspired today's AVA Platinum Award.
