Halon Virtual Spam Prevention Achieves 7th Consecutive VBSpam Award

GOTHENBURG, Sweden, April 3, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Since 2009, the annual VBSpam review has been the most thorough review of anti-spam software. In the seventh consecutive review, Halon VSP won the VBSpam award for the best anti-spam software.

After years of working in the field, the Virus Bulletin team started to perform regular reviews of the best software and services for keeping spam out of corporate email. The VBSpam test consists of two parts where two parallel and continues streams of spam email are sent through each spam blocking software under review. At the same time, hundreds of legit email are also sent through the same spam blocking software to measure the amount of false positives (if any).

In the first VBSpam review of 2012, Halon Security's award winning email and spam gateway Virtual Spam Prevention was approved its seventh consecutive VBSpam award.

Our continuous success in reviews such as the VBSpam review is a powerful testimony that Swedish software engineering and research can compete with any other software supplier on the anti-spam software market. Myself and the team are extremely proud of this seventh consecutive VBSpam award, says Peter Falck, President of Halon Security.

Halon Spam Prevention protects both inbound and outbound communications and is used by both SMB and enterprise businesses and government organizations around the world. Halon is also future proof with support for emerging technologies such as IPv6, DNSSEC and DKIM, which means that even if you change solution today, you will not risk an expensive investment in the future, when these become requirements. Halon runs on virtualization platforms like VMware ESX and Citrix XenServer, but is also available as hardware and in the Cloud (SaaS).

For those who wish, Halon, of course, be connected via, for example Active Directory to the company's Microsoft Exchange server to get an easy way to let users log into the quarantine function with the same login and password as their e-mail account.
