BRIEF: Naches Heights store robbed at gunpoint

Mar 29, 2012 (Yakima Herald-Republic - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- NACHES, Wash. -- An armed robber made off with cash this morning from the Little Store on Naches Heights, Yakima County sheriff's officials said.


The robbery was reported about 11:30 at the store in the 5000 block of Naches Heights Road, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The store's owner and a single customer were inside when the robber entered the store, showed a handgun and demanded money from the register, authorities said. The man fled to a waiting vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was described as man in his 20s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 145 pounds. He was wearing a dark baseball cap and dark clothing with a blue bandana over his face, according to the news release. The suspect vehicle may have been a dark-colored, four-door Honda Accord with tinted windows. It was described as loud.

Anyone with information about the case is asked call the sheriff's office at 509-574-2500.
