SecureCare Technologies Unveils New RESTful API for Sfax

Austin, Texas, Mar 21, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- SecureCare Technologies, Inc. has today unveiled its new RESTful API for its secure Internet fax service Sfax. It is the culmination of 6 months work in evolving the Sfax platform to be able to release a new RESTful API with added fax functionality and new security features, making it superior to the old SOAP-based system in a number of ways.

SecureCare Technologies has more than 40 EHRs and software vendors successfully using its existing SOAP-based system, but this new API has several advantages over traditional web services. Performance and scalability have both been increased and invocation simplified, leading to an all round better service. With this new API, users can upload documents and cover pages, send / receive faxes, check the status of transmissions. It also allows users to access accounts "in the cloud," and send and receive faxes based on strict authentication criteria.

The Sfax API allows users to rapidly integrate automated secure faxing into their applications and provides secure access for trusted local or web-based applications. The new RESTful API for Sfax is the most powerful way to integrate with Sfax, allowing companies, both large and small, to access the tools and assistance they need to be successful.

Gene Fry, VP Technology commented: "The launch of our new RESTful API represents a 'step change' in our ability to integrate with our customers. We have strong documentation and sample code to make life easier for anyone wishing to integrate with Sfax. Furthermore, we have a great roadmap going forward of new features we'll be adding in the next few months".

"We decided to embrace modern thinking and methods with the new API and utilize a HTTP protocol endpoint, similar in concept to RESTful services. The RESTful web service is a much simpler alternative to SOAP-based services, due to its better interface design and as it's considerably simpler to use," Fry continued.

SecureCare will be putting together a Developers Forum to help its users learn more about developing for Sfax. It hopes that many developers will join the community to share their knowledge with others and SecureCare's own developers will also be available to help, discuss any problems and share ideas.
