Jaspersoft Appoints Open Source Community Director

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Jaspersoft, maker of the world's most widely used business intelligence (BI) software, today announced the appointment of Matthew Geise as the company's Senior Director of Community Development. In this highly visible role, Geise will drive the expansion and value of the Jaspersoft open source community by advocating for the community within Jaspersoft and evangelizing the capabilities of Jaspersoft's open source projects. Specific duties will include driving the proliferation of knowledge within the community, streamlining and expanding on community contributions and involvement, and advocating for community priorities within Jaspersoft's product and services roadmap process to assure the continued adoption of Jaspersoft's technology.

Geise is well positioned for this role, having been appointed based upon his Jaspersoft tenure and success. In his prior roles within Jaspersoft, Geise managed the Global Customer Support Organization as well as an on-demand implementation of Jaspersoft's technology, focused on delivering BI capabilities to Salesforce.com customers. Key milestones while at Jaspersoft included running a highly-scalable Jaspersoft-based service with a greater than 99.9 percent service availability, and managing the delivery of Jaspersoft's highly-regarded customer support services during a time of exceptional customer growth. With this experience, Geise brings to the community a real-world understanding of how Jaspersoft technology is and can be leveraged for the benefit of BI Builders across any industry.

"Matt's proven track record within the organization as well as his existing ties and understanding of customer needs make him ideally suited for the position," said Brian Gentile, CEO at Jaspersoft. "We are committed to working closely with our thriving community and this community development role is only the first in a series of strategic moves intended to accelerate this important aspect of our business." Geise started off his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he worked in the government industry developing mission critical systems and advising on RFPs resulting in the acquisition of services contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars. After more than four years in consulting, he served as a Java engineer and architect for several start-ups, including NPO Online, Inc. and AtomShockwave Corporation. He then spent nearly five years as Director of Technology Solutions for Charles Schwab's Corporate Services Technology group in San Francisco where he managed technology projects, which helped to grow client assets by over $8 Billion in a single year. In 2006, he was named Director of Technology Services for TradeBeam, Inc., now part of CDC Software, where he managed customer implementations on the company's Global Trade Management SaaS service offering. Geise joined Jaspersoft in 2007.
