Lifeware Links With HP to Offer Total Entertainment and Home Control; Digital Lifestyle Becomes Reality When Lifeware Media Center Edition Is Combined With HP Digital Entertainment Centers and Displays

INDIANAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 9, 2005 -- The dream of a single solution that effortlessly combines complete management of digital entertainment with control of the home is now a reality, as Exceptional Innovation, producers of Lifeware: Media Center Edition home control software, announces the pairing of Lifeware with HP's Digital Entertainment Centers.

Using the same remote control used to access and enjoy entertainment on any HP Digital Entertainment Center, a Lifeware user can seamlessly control lighting, audio, window coverings, thermostats, security, and cameras made by a wide variety of vendors. The approach not only gives consumers more choices, but allows integrators to create new business in innovative and unique ways.

"HP is leading the way in bringing digital entertainment to the living room," said Mike Seamons, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Exceptional Innovation. "When you pair Life/ware with the powerful HP Digital Entertainment Center, you have a tremendous and compelling solution that seamlessly merges digital entertainment with home control."

"Lifeware is a product that demonstrates true vision for the digital lifestyle," said Jan Luc Blakborn, Director of Digital Entertainment -- North America, HP. "HP Digital Entertainment Centers deliver a centralized way to manage digital content. Now, with Lifeware, that centralized management can be extended to control the household environment."

At CEDIA, residential electronics professionals will be able to experience Lifeware running on HP Digital Entertainment Centers in both companies' booths. They can also take part in the $40,000 Big Giveaway, which features daily prize packages that include HP DECs & TVs, Lifeware software and lighting control from CEDIA-stalwart Vantage. The prize packages are designed to highlight the way digital entertainment centers and home control systems come together with Lifeware for a single, remarkable experience.

"When you team the leading innovator in digital entertainment systems with the leading innovator in PC-based home control, you get the whole-home solution the CEDIA market has been looking for," said Seamons. "That's a robust model for integrators to build their businesses on."
