Tao DualConnect Cordless Telephone Makes VoIP or POTS Calls at the Push of a Button

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Tao(TM) DualConnect cordless telephone was unveiled today by Giant International. The cordless phone allows users to make ordinary telephone calls or Internet calls (VoIP) with the same handset. Using the Internet, users can call anywhere in the world at greatly reduced rates or even free.

"As the first consumer dual-mode phone in the U.S., the Tao DualConnect delivers on the Tao brand promise of giving consumers access to communications how and where they want it," said Cortlandt Minnich, vice president of marketing for Giant International. "Using one phone, callers have the freedom to choose between ordinary phone service or VoIP."
The Tao DualConnect base station plugs into the USB port of any PC and a conventional phone jack. With a range of 100 feet indoors and 1000 feet outdoors, the base station works with up to four handsets, enabling simultaneous traditional telephone service and Internet calls. It also supports caller ID, call-waiting and call-forwarding functions. With just the push of a button users can switch between traditional telephone service and Internet phone service. Distinctive rings differentiate between incoming telephone and Internet calls. The manufacturer's suggested retail price of Tao DualConnect is $129.
