SmartDB Expands Offering to Include PeopleSoft Migrations; PeopleSoft-to-Oracle Toolkit to Help SIs and Developers Fast Track Clients Through Migration

MENLO PARK, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 1, 2005 -- SmartDB Corp, the leading provider of professional tools for system integrators, today announced the introduction and general availability of a new PeopleSoft to Oracle migration toolkit. The new SmartDB offering, named PS2O, is being added to the SmartDB stable of products in response to marketplace dynamics and systems integrator (SI) requests. PS2O can put PeopleSoft customers on a fast migration track and will become standard equipment for many of the larger system integrator organizations as well as internal IT organizations.

SmartDB's flagship product, SmartDB Workbench, is the tool of choice by systems integrators for Oracle upgrades and conversions. The imperative for using SmartDB is centered on the concept of risk reduction. Leveraging off of the SmartDB Workbench, PS2O includes a runtime that serves as the engine for real-time data movement, a management console to graphically monitor and configure integrations, a selection of connectors for accessing any of the popular databases, and Workbench Studio, a Windows-based tool developers use to manage data conversions and build custom templates. Notably, SmartDB's PS2O toolkit offers a comprehensive library of pre-built PeopleSoft Intelligent Adapters to automatically transform or migrate data.

By using SmartDB's Design Studio and extensive selection of pre-built adapters, systems integrators can save 35% to 50% of the programming time and related costs associated with upgrades and conversions. SIs benefit from SmartDB's performance and reliability by helping to remove the risk of missed deadlines and budget pressures.

By adding SmartDB's PeopleSoft to Oracle migration capability, systems integrators can put clients on a fast track to migration that reduces risk and much of the expense often associated with making significant core business system changes. SmartDB's Intelligent Adapters enrich, validate, format, and map data for migration between specific application modules. The combination of Intelligent Adapters and SmartDB Design Studio enables SIs to easily migrate data for HR, Financials, Manufacturing and other business application functions.

SmartDB President George Langan believes the company's significant commitment to the PeopleSoft community is well justified. "Systems integrators have come to know that SmartDB strives to stay ahead of the market curve and provide the right mix of products to help them best serve their clients. With the SmartDB PS2O toolkit, SIs will be positioned to respond quickly with the proven SmartDB technology."
